The NYEC, National Young Employees Competition was born with Stuart Hardy as course designer and event manager….at extensive estate locations across the UK such as the National Agricultural Centre, and Trentham Gardens – a 24 Hour melee of problem solving activities, physical challenges and creative adventures were digested by male, female and mixed categories.

On overnight large scale mission scenario set the seen – testing many, and creating the anticipation for activities that were to follow…culminating in the final ‘shoot-off’ finale by the winners of the categories. Up to 650 people competed, cooked, camped and made friends for life in this unique business development experience.
The event ran for years…and was copied by many other organisations and providers…leading eventually to the International Challenge competitions and ‘Raids’ we see today.

The 20-30 specially designed team activities that were required each year have become the staple diet of AOM memory bank of experiential outdoor challenges. Some - such as the famous ‘Bomb Retrieval’ have become standards in the industry
