THE FIRST DAY EVENT

Debis were  challenged to recruit huge numbers of new employees - initially into debis itself and then susequently into the newly formed TSystems post-merger. The client requested a new approach to the induction process - being tired of the traditional presentation, powerpoint and lunch approach, taht would engage patrticpants, challenge expectations about their new company - and demonstrate their creative talent. It should also serve as an excellent Networking opportunity that would accelerate this process within the new organisation

The Art of Management, with the support of its Logistics partner in Germany - Brainwave, designed and delivered a unique sculpture building event that was staged in locations around southern Germany, including circus tents, and old Mine Buildings. Created as a project, teams of new employees adopted roles - designers, builders, managers, HR  - regardless of their true positions in the organisation. Materials were bought - budgets fixed and the project sold to a live customer.  Ultimately the Sculptures - designed to represent the organisation at a trade fair, reside in TSystems foyee's around Europe - creating a lasting pride. The event created a huge impact, and lasting memories, with diverse social Network Teams created across Company and National Boundaries that still exist to this day.

Finally 100 days later the same delegates were invited back to the 'Day 100', to review progress and test whether prior expectations had been met.

Invaluable feedback data on the Post Merger process was gathered and new networks reinforced by further experiential exercises.

The First Day Event and Day 100 lasted nearly 4 years with up to 250 every Month...It is one of the largest  and most sucessful events of its kind ever staged and has proved a role model for other organisations
